Frequently Asked Questions

How do I add an item?

Tap the "+" button on the Home screen. Fill in the item name, assign a category and location, optionally add a photo, and tap Save.

Can I organize items by location and category?

Yes. Recall lets you create custom categories and locations, including sub-categories and sub-locations, to organize your items however you like.

How do I restore a purchase?

Go to Settings and tap "Restore Purchases." Your premium features will be reactivated if a previous purchase is found.

Is my data stored in the cloud?

Your data is stored locally on your device. Recall does not upload your items, photos, or personal information to any server.

Overview

Recall is designed with your privacy in mind. Your personal item data, including names, photos, categories, and locations, is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.

Data We Collect

Recall collects limited, anonymous analytics data to help us improve the app:

• Usage analytics — We use TelemetryDeck and Firebase Analytics to collect anonymous usage data such as which screens are viewed and which features are used. This data contains no personally identifiable information.
• Crash reports — Anonymous crash reports may be collected to help us identify and fix bugs.

Data We Do Not Collect

• Your name, email address, or contact information
• Your item data, photos, categories, or locations
• Your precise or approximate location
• Any data that could personally identify you

Third-Party Services

• TelemetryDeck — Privacy-first analytics. Their privacy policy.
• Firebase Analytics — Anonymous usage analytics. Their privacy policy.
• Apple — In-app purchases are processed by Apple. Their privacy policy.

Notifications

Recall may request permission to send local notifications for item reminders. These notifications are scheduled entirely on your device and do not involve any external server.

Camera and Photos

Recall may request access to your camera to take photos of items. These photos are stored locally on your device and are never uploaded or shared.

Children's Privacy

Recall is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
